Does a US Citizen petitioner on an I-130 also have to pay and undergo biometrics?

Q. US Citizen here filing for an I-130 to petition immediate relative. Do I also have to pay for and undergo biometrics together with paying the fee for the I-130 and submitting a G-325a?

A. You will only pay for the filling fee for the I-130. Everything comes up later and US citizen does not do biometrics.

what do the digits 0 and 1 represent? How would you convert 130 to dotted decimal notation?
Q. How would you convert 130 to dotted decimal notation? what do the digits 0 and 1 represent?

A. Are you talking about binary?

If so...

1 means True
0 means False

When taking the decimal number 130 and convert it to binary it would look like this:

0100 0001

basically:

1 : FALSE
2 : TRUE
4 : FALSE
8 : FALSE
16 : FALSE
32 : FALSE
64 : FALSE
128: TRUE

128 + 2 = 130

How soon would my wife receive her visa after her I-130 petition has been approved?
Q. I am a US citizen who married a Filipina back in Jan 2007. On Dec 14 we received a letter from the USCIS stating that the I-130 petition we filed had been approved. We just wanted to know how long we need to wait until we are finally reunited. Thanks for you help.

A. it could be anywhere from a year to 5 years. that's only the first of many things. after the approval, they're going to forward your papers to NVC for further processing. they're going to ask for more papers from you during the processing period. when everything is all good, they're going to approve your case and forward it to the manila embassy. when the manila embassy has an available date, they're going to send your wife a letter of appointment for the final visa interview. that's the last step. when she gets aprroved, she'll get her passport back with the visa in about 3 weeks. she has 6 months to enter the US on that visa.

it takes a loooong time. i'm a filipina as well but my i-130 was processed in canada (was a permanent resident there)... where there isn't a lot of immigrant visas being processed there. even then, it took my husband and i a year and a month to be together in the US! it will take a little longer for yours to be processed because it's in the philippines.

you can also try and apply for a k3. it will be a shorter processing period that will allow your wife to enter the US as a non-immigrant at first. once she's here, she can then apply for an adjustment of status. you are actually good to go to apply for that since USCIS has already approved your petition.
