A. Although you cannot buy fruit you can still lose weight.
Good Eating! This doesn't mean you have to eat Jenny Craig meals or anything, just try to keep down the amount of sugars you eat and don't binge eat [eating when you're bored]. Don't eat while watching TV. Just try to keep a healthy mix of meat, carbs and veggies. And no a Big Mac and a combo pizza don't count as healthy eating.
Another method to good eating habits is to keep your metabolism up all day by eating a number of small meals throughout the day. What i mean by a small meal is just enough to keep you satisfied, like when you're hungry try 6oz of meat and some veggies and then drink water.
Exercise! This can be simple as walking around the block before you eat or doing some pushups or pullups or situp. You can also do some at home pilates or yoga or things like that [just look on youtube for instructional videos and do that at home] If you exercise your metabolism speeds up and kicks in to eat up more calories from your fat deposits. So doing this prior to a meal will help feed your body before you actually sit down and eat.
Just those simple habits will make a change!

Looking for ideas for a deiting web site called Diet Partners?
Q. I have this web site called diet partners. I'm looking for a way people can join it, team up with someone who they can diet with. Share ideas, encourage each other, etc.
A. Great idea... Great name... Like a dating service, maybe you need to ask participants what they want to see in a diet partner. You can keep a profile of each member and a list of partner criteria. For example:
Do you want someone locally who you can meet face-to-face and perhaps befriend?
Did you want to meet online anonymously?
Do you want to communicate through a private blog with your partner and perhaps anonymously with a larger community? (WordPress can be customized for this purpose)
How often do you want to connect with this other person?
If your diet partner has an eating emergency (potential binge), do you want to help with that whenever necessary?
Do you want a male or female diet partner?
What age group do you want your diet partner to be?
What diet plan are you willing to work with (one or more)?
- Atkins (This is an unhealthy diet. Warn participants to avoid liability.)
- Weight Watchers
- Jenny Craig
- Calorie restricted diet
- Meal replacement diets
- Whole plant based diet (Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Esselstyn, Jr.)
- Raw Food
- Macrobiotic
- Water Fasting
- Strict Vegan diet
What motivations are you willing to work with? Often dieters are attempting to intervene to avoid (one or more):
- Obesity
- Bulimia or Anorexia
- High blood pressure/vascular disease
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Osteoporosis
- Other diet related diseases
- Abuse of animals/Destruction of Environment
Positive motivation might include people who want to enjoy different forms of eating(one or more):
- Recipe exchange
- Raw food preparation
- Diet tips
- Motivation tips
The list of profile information and partner criteria can be extensive, but if done correctly would not be an expensive software development project. You will need a privacy statement.
Many people may find the site to be a good way to meet like-minded people. I'd advise you to have a free site with anonymous blogging capability and interesting content. I'd then have two or three levels of services are for pay services.
Some advanced sites services might include:
- Personal matching service
- Anonymous 1-on-1 blogging service
- Personal introduction services
- Expert nutritionist advice services
- Meet up services for groups of like minded people
The amount of contradictory information about human nutrition that has been published is staggering. If you are to provide advice through this we site, I would be careful to limit my advice to information that has been fully supported by peer-reviewed scientific studies. A dietician and even a nutritionist may fall victim to dietary myths from the 1950s that continue through today in text books that are out of step with the science of the past 30 years. Here are some authors and nutrition researchers that seem to be in touch with all of the latest science on human nutrition:
Dr. Neal Barnard
Dr. Dean Ornish
Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr.
Dr. John McDougall
Professor T. Colin Campbell
Should you allow a match on people what want to do the Atkins diet? Sure. But you want to make sure that you cover your risks by advising the people of potential risks associated with that type of eating. Should you allow people to match when they want to go on water fasts? (where they only consume water for a week or two? Sure. But, make sure that you insist that they find an experienced medical professional to supervise the fast. At least you will have done what you can to prevent injury or death. You should know, for example, that excess dairy consumption ironically can lead to osteoporosis. (Harvard Nurses' Study) That is inconsistent with the consensus reality, but it's important information for some people.
Be aware of publications that have been funded by the Price Foundation. This organization receives most of their revenue from the dairy and meat associations and farmers. They do not conduct legitimate science but they have been very successful at influencing publications and mass media.
I hope some of this information may be of help to you. I've given this some thought because I was thinking of doing it myself. If you manage to pull this off, let me know because I want to be one of your first customers.
Vegans are only about 1-2% of the population and they really want to meet other vegans in their communities, for dating and for friendships.
You might be able to finance the web site just based upon commercial food and supplement products, however, that would probably detract from the fidelity of purpose. Are you going to be loyal to your corporate advertisers or to the well being of your subscribers?
A free service almost always would require a compromise in favor of commercial interests. They will be promoting dairy products faster than you can cash their checks.

Who would win in a fight: A Russian fresh off a 2 week vodka binge vs American fresh off a Jenny Craig diet?
Q.
A. There's no way to tell from THAT information. You simply say a "Russian" vs. an "American". Most Russians would say the Russian, most Americans would say the American. But the Russian is "fresh off a 2 week vodka binge". The American is "fresh off a Jenny Craig diet". The Russian may have a slower reaction time due to the binge, the American may be weakened due to eating less than normal (Is that the point of mentioning the diet? Or is the point that the American is physically fit?) Either way, the Russian may have been physically stronger to begin with, or the American could be a martial artist or a boxer. And why are they fighting and WHERE are they fighting? What's their motivation for this "fight"? Is it Russian Vodka (or Polish or some other good brand) or cheap vodka? What's the Russian's tolerance for alcohol? This "fight" may very well simply end in a draw.
