Q. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/may/16/skinny-models-fuel-male-eating-disorders
According to this article, 40% of binge eaters are men, and 1/4 of anorexics and bulemics are men.
Yet most women here in GS, state a preference for tall, big, men capable of "protecting" them.
What do you think?
@Incubus- Now that makes me want to cry. Stupid feminists.

A. I blame it on the modern male fashion sense. The skinny jeans craze that is now fashionable looks a bit ridiculous IMO. That is probably why lots of them are feeling insecure whilst wearing them. And to quote the person above me it is not a new thing at all. It was always deemed as a female obsession but men were just classed as addicts a few yaers ago.
It is partly to do with this obesity epidemic of late too. It was a "masculine" trait that men had the alcohol dispositions and women the food. Well it certainly seems women are more than catching up with men in booze bingeing, so I suppose the men now are with anorexia/bulimia.
But judging by that source, you should always take that newspaper with a pinch of salt. The guardian is nearly as dramatic as the Daily Mail. Do you remember that one time when The Mail stated that tomatoes give you cancer?
I rest my case.

Which is the most important meal of the day?
Q. Most people say breakfast so you have energy. Yet most European countries have a small breakfast/dinner and big lunch. I personally have small breakfast/lunch and eat a big dinner. For those who wants to watch their figure, should they be eating everything in the morning so they burn it off during the day?
A. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I try to have something yummy everyday - even if I just have time to have a hard boiled egg, some apple slices with penut butter and my *$ coffee ;)
However, you have to find what works best for you, your lifestyle and your metabolism.
Though not everyone likes to eat a full meal first thing in the morning... it is important to have some protien,a little fruit, some H20 and a good multivitamin never hurts (protien, energy and fiber).
Breaking up three large meals into several small portions throughout the day can be a benefit as well - since many times a large meal (regardless of which meal) can make you feel sluggish, bloated or uncomfortable - especially when you still need to finish your work day and your stuck at your desk, etc.
Check out these links for more information ... there's an online article on nutrition (from nutrition.about.com) and an article by "Dr. Susan Mitchell" "Mitchell says that eating 'many mini' meals throughout the day ...can stave off hunger pangs that could trigger a binge meal later."

What is the best way to eat to lose fat?
Q. The exercise part of losing weight is simple: I can go lift weights or run and drink plenty of water. That part is understandable. It's the food part that is confusing: when to eat, what to eat, portion size, frequency. If I starve myself I gain weight, if I binge I gain weight. It's really conflicting. Like what foods should I eat to burn off the fat cells? I know fiber and protein and carbohydrates but specific food would help here. Thanks. I am 5 feet 6 inches, 230 pounds, 23 years old.
A. First you need to figure out how many calories you need to eat. This is the most important. You can do a search for caloric expenditure and figure that out. You can check out websites like www.pyramid.gov for information on nutrition and that will answer most of your questions.
