Eating Disorders: Hungry for Love

They are everywhere, the magazine talks about the eating habits and body-shaping practices of rich and famous. Why are we so focused on physical appearance these people, or for that matter, why we put so much pressure on them to look a certain way? And, what message are we sending our children, especially girls? Plus, which is the purpose of serving the gossip about them?

I agree with the healthy, however, how healthy we are when we become obsessed? Obsession is a form of care. Worried shows the desire for control. When you are worried about the size and shape of our body, we are in lack of control. With life spinning out of control, we are looking to gain some degree of control, and more often than not, the only thing we ever have control over our thoughts. Unfortunately, the human race is competing in the Right / Wrong, good / bad, and many other extremes. As we grow and explore the world, we do everything possible to stop and the only way to do that is by being good enough for someone or something, then, our obsession with physical appearance becomes a tool for attracting attention and rejection. Although it seems as if our society is trying to lose weight and be healthy, actions, or lack thereof, have no connection with any, it's all about control and acceptance. In other words, we are together out of control, desperately seeking love. What's worse, it involved an unhealthy way, so is a sad reality for millions of people.

What I'm referring to the eating disorder affecting nearly 24 million people of all ages and genders with a minimum of 50% of the untreated depression and anxiety. Statistically, eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, although these figures vary depending on the final cause of death mentioned on the certificate. Many people with eating disorders to develop heart problems, kidney problems, cancer, suffer from malnutrition or simply choose to end their lives. However, it does not get to this point. There are plenty of early warning signs and sufficient sensitivity, understanding, love and guidance of our family, friends and patients can successfully get through this difficult time.

Eating disorders are one of the following:
1st Anorexics starve / restrict food intake-less forms of eating disorders are people practicing excessive drinking coffee and alcohol and smoking cigarettes all the while eating limited amounts of food.
2nd Bulimics treatment through the use of laxatives, diuretics, excessive exercise, vomiting or fasting for an extended period of time to make up for the binge.
3rd Compulsive overeaters do not use inappropriate weight control behaviors and are often laden with guilt or shame, which leads to more binges.
4th Diabulimics bulimics with diabetes are manipulating their insulin levels for weight control.

If you suspect an eating disorder, take some time and look for any of the following indicators:
1st Extreme concern about body weight and shape
2nd Intense fear of fat
3rd He refuses to eat, I do not want to eat in public
4th Excessive use of laxatives or diuretics (bulimia)
5th It is unusual to need to use the bathroom after meals, always running water while using the toilet
6th Obsessed with food, they want to prepare large meals for friends and family and do not eat with them
7th Extremely restrictive eating patterns
8th excessive exercise
9th Loss of menstrual cycle
10th Changes in the structure of teeth, color and length
11th dry mouth
12th Bleeding gums
13. Increased sensitivity to hot and cold in your mouth
14th Perfectionist personality (anorexia / bulimia)
15. Increased sensitivity to cold (anorexia)
16. Low blood pressure and heart rate
17th Profuse sweating and shortness of breath (overeating)
18. The loss of hair, sunken eyes, pale skin (anorexia)
19th Blood shot / slightly bruised eyes (bulimia)
20th Mood, anxiety, depression
21st Dizziness and headaches
22nd Sore throat and / or swollen glands (bulimia)

Changes in the mouth is often the first physical symptoms of eating disorders, and may occur as early as six months after the start of the problem.

nutritional deficiencies arising from harmful practices can lead to low bone mass, weakened heart and metabolic and electrolyte imbalances. These imbalances cause the blood to become more acidic (metabolic acidosis), and potassium levels to drop directly affect the quality of saliva and its production. Laxatives, diuretics and vomiting to add devastating effects in the mouth. Tooth erosion, dry mouth, gum disease, tooth decay are all early consequences of eating disorders, and the reason why patients often seek the help of a dentist. There is a risk of osteoporosis and fractures of the jaw in anorexic patients.

Here is where the role of the dental professional is becoming more than just a cavity detector. Dentists, doctors, dental hygienists and assistants are now more than ever, in a position to save lives. How to find and concerns sooner rather than later is imperative, because the evidence we have at the moment is undeniable ~ our oral health directly affects our physical health and vice versa. It is a systemic problem requires a joint effort. It is time for doctors and dentists to come together and demonstrate a holistic health care.

Eating disorders are not about how thin or healthy. They are a form of mental illness which 'upsets' the entire system as everyone does. From my perspective, these issues are a microcosm of the macrocosm. We are a world spinning out of control, and time on an individual basis, as dobro.Lijek? Feeding / fill hungry hearts suffocating fear.

At this point, it is necessary to collectively pull together in support of the greater good. This will be understanding, love and a sincere desire to alleviate the pain. Imagine the degree of discomfort one must be feeling to manifest these physical symptoms. No one should die (or be on the verge of dying) finally feel accepted. So smile. Smiling is contagious, and having someone smile back at you just might save your life.

Remember, there is power in ranjivost.Više we allow ourselves to be seen, the more we see others and it is this transparency that we have created shifts. If the eyes are the window of the soul, it's only fitting that the mouth of a window to our heart.
