Where can I learn if I have binge eating disorder and how can I stop binge eating?

Q. I've been struggling with food for longer than I care to admit. I have researched online, but not 100% sure if I do have binge eating disorder, or if I do, how to stop binge eating. Any ideas or resources would be good so I can learn more. thanks.

A. As far as knowing if you have binge eating disorder, see if any of these sound like you...

1. Are you tired of hiding food wrappers at the bottom of the garbage in hope that no one will see the âevidenceâ?

2. Are you ready to put on a smile for the world and keep it on instead of crawling back into your âsad worldâ when you are alone?

3. Are you ready to end your private nightmare filled with sadness and start a new life filled with excitement and happiness?

4. Do you constantly feel like something is wrong with you and use food to ease the pain?

As far as learning more, I have provided two resources on binge eating disorder. One is a site about a girl who suffered with binge eating disorder for many years, and the other is a binge eating video on YouTube from the same girl.

If you do have binge eating disorder and you're looking for help, you are doing the right thing here by reaching out for help.

can you give me some tips for staying focused on diet and exercise?
Q. when i wake up every day, all i want to do is workout and do stuff. but at night, i have the worst cravings for food. its so bad that once i start, i cant stop. so the only way i keep on track is by eating low carb high protein meals all day. if i deviate from that at all, i lose control and end up binge eating. how can i convince myself that we dont live to eat, but eat to live???

A. I was the same way...2 days ago lmao. Just get obsessed with healthy food. salt is the enemy and so is sugar. Once you get used to the good food your taste buds will change and hate salt and sugar. Like today i had wendys fries and the salt burned my mouth which it usually never does it was so weird but i had to stop eating the fries and go to get a salad lol

How can I stick with a water fast?
Q. I am doing this for three reasons: 1) to lose fifteen pounds 2) to end my binge eating disorder and 3) to restore my health and state of self-control. Please, no "DONT DO THIS!" I have decided that this is the only way.

A. I'm 16 years old and I'm currently on day 34 of a 40 day water fast. My motivation came from reading 'Fasting and Eating for Health' by Joel Fuhrman M.D. It explains water fasting in depth, what to expect, WHY you feel the way you do during a fast. It also lists the illnesses and diseases prolonged water fasting has cured, like asthma, eczema, chronic migraines, cases of cancer/tumors. It has also repaired damaged livers and lungs of people who have spent most of their life drinking and smoking.

Fasting is a powerful thing, but it gets a bad reputation from people who have been "brainwashed" into thinking meat is a good thing, or milk is required for your body to stay healthy. Also, from doctors who believe this is a "starvation diet."

Please note: You are NOT starving until you have about 5% body fat left. You feed off of fat reserves until there are very few left. THAT'S when you begin feeding off of your organs, and not a minute before.

This country is a business driven by money, not your safety. The FDA wants your money. The food companies want your money. Health care professionals want your money! They could care less about damaging your organs as long as they're furthering their business. Your doctors want to prescribe you medicine for your addiction, illness, injury, etc. because it makes THEM money.

Sorry for the rant, I just feel very strongly about this.

Good luck <3 !
