Why does Topamax cause weight loss?
Q. Is it because of the lack of wanting food/loss of craving and weird taste in the mouth, or does it do something to the metabolism, or is there not explanation at this time.

A. It just makes many people not want to eat as much, something with food cravings, bulimia, binge-eating, mood disorder-related snacking, the chemicals in your brain, blah blah blah, ect. I was on Topamax and I hated it. It did the complete opposite to me.

Q. i know that as a side effect you can experience a decrease in appetite from topamax which is lovely. but i have noticed that i still feel like i want to eat. i dont know if this is just an urge because i am used to it from having a binge eating disorder or not but i was wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar?? i dont feel hunger but i want to eat, but it is different from what i felt before i started taking the medication. this is also only my second day taking it at only 50mg.
