Q. Everyone always says "You can't lose weight if you stop eating because your body goes into survival mode and stores all the fat"... so how do these anorexic girls get so skinny? Just wondering...
A. All too often, people will just repeat what they heard without knowing the exact mechanics behind the weight loss.
Anorexics lose weight by calorie deficit. When you consume less than you burn you lose weight period. Survival mode is what the weight loss is. When you consume less than you burn, this means you go into survival mode or the famine response. You start to use body reserves to maintain normal body function, with about 80% from fat and 20% from muscle.
What everyone refers to as the a stunted metabolism is actually the muscle loss. Anorexics tend to restrict and binge, so each time they restrict, they lose fat and muscle, but every time they binge, they gain just fat. This leads to slowly getting a higher and higher body fat percentage. This makes losing or even maintaining weight more difficult each time. This is because muscle is the main component of the body that effects metabolism. As we lose muscle, we lower our metabolism (muscle burns a tremendous amount of calories at rest).
The same yoyo effect happens with fad diets and for the same reason.

Q. I did the ATKINS diet last week and nothing happend, before i had done other diets and exercises too,i lost 6 kg,but now i cant lose weight ,i mean beacause of YOYOs diets my body is confused, what do you think????
A. You used a bunch of crash diets, wrecked your metabolism, wrecked your muscle fiber, wrecked your appetite and now you expect it to be ok overnight?
You need a lifestyle change and to get you rbody digesting and proccessing food and a normla pace again
1. Eat about 6 small complete meals throughout the day (fish, almonds, walnuts, and lean proteins in general, plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, and complex multigrain carbohydrates) spaced out about every 2-3 hours. Consume between 1500-2500 calories a day. DO NOT BINGE EAT!
2. Be as active as you can; nothing to do for 10 minutes? Knockout 10 elevated push-ups.
3. Eat some spicy foods; take a decent amount of vitamin C, and drink between a half-gallon and a whole gallon of WATER a day.
4. No more soda. Ever.
5. If you do drink coffee, drink it black.
6. Do at least 35 minutes of cardio straight at least once a day, at least three times a week, more if you are not trying to put on muscle.
7. Do a large amount of full body exercises whenever possible (Jumping Jacks, Pull-ups, Chin ups, dips, squats, hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, back raises, glute ham raises, burpees)
8. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night, but no more then 9.
9. Avoid anything deep-fried, white bread, sprinkles, and any refined sugar.

Uncontrollable appetite advise/help?
Q. I've tried everything, substituting carbs for fat and protein, mixing them both up, eating more veg/fruit, drinking water before a meal, eating slowly... nothing is working. I'm 18 and male, I am at a healthy weight but I don't want to gain weight however my hunger pains are sometimes so severe I have to reach out for anything in sight. I also exercise and do cardio daily and trying to lose just 10 lbs but my appetite is constantly aggressively raging, whether I eat a plate of grilled chicken or a bowl of pasta. I can't control my portions because they never seem enough. I don't have any medical problems but I do believe I have binge eating disorder due to yoyo dieting and having severe weight loss/gain dilemmas and obesity and anorexia. I've also tried taking multivitamins, fasting, keeping myself busy. I was an overweight child and naturally have a large appetite which I have successfully controlled in the past but I think I've destroyed by metabolism through yoyo dieting. Should I consult a doctor? Or get a thyroid test? Every minute I think about the next meal and snack and compulsively planning out my diet to a point where it's taking over my life and affecting my moods and emotions. When I've forcefully been on a successful, healthy diet my energy levels and moods are unstable and I end up losing all control and when I've been on a binge marathon I feel depressed and weak. I feel like I can't win.
A. Go to your doctor and get your intestines checked out for tapeworm. If you got your chicken from Walmart, that chicken came from China. It is extremely Plausible that chicken has micro organisms in the meat that can grow into tapeworms. The only side effect of tapeworm, is aggressive appetite
