Q. I try to save money, but I always feel weak when an urge to eat junk food comes.
I spend like $50 a week on junk food alone. Plus more for regular groceries.
How can I stop my compulsive shopping and binges at the same time?

A. What got me to stop wasting money was using a cash system.
Every week I hit the ATM and withdrawal a set amount (my allowance). Then when I return home my debit card is taken out of my wallet and put away. For me I budget 40.00 a paycheck. So 20.00 a week.
When that money is gone, that's it. And with the cash in hand it is easier to track what you have left. AND with with you're debit card at home, you can't just swipe it on impulse items/buys.

How did you stop yourself from binge eating/eating junk food?
Q. I wanna lose some weight and tone up, but I can't resist myself from eating! I eat when I'm not even hungry. And my mom keeps bringing in junk food despite me asking her not to, soooo it's basically not an option to not bring it into the house. So what did you guys do, who have been in similar situations, to stop yourself from eating too much? And also, I eat rice everyday... should I switch to brown rice? One last question, how long did it take you (especially if you're a woman) to lose weight? I'm not overweight, but I'm not satisfied with my thighs, so I'm just wondering how long it will take to lose thigh fat..? Thanks in advance.
Oh and I'm planning on starting on Insanity and jogging once exams are done... Hopefully I'll stick. Any helpful hints to follow through with the exercises would also be nice. ;D

A. Something that helps me is drinking mineral water or a herbal tea that I like the taste of instead. I drink that in large quantities which distracts me from junk food and keeps me full. Make it a habit and it'll replace the junk in no time at all. It;s just about breaking a habit and the easiest way is by replacing it with a new healthier one.
What are the side effects of yo yo dieting?
Q. I go on a diet and lose lots of weight then i go back to my old habits and binge eat on junk food (especially chocolates) and put all the weight i lose back on again then i go on the diet all over again and the the cycle repeats itself again and again and again!
A. All i can think of is...
Stretch marks
Strain on your heart
Maybe hurt your stomach (from the bad foods?)
Im like you im a bit of a yo yoer, however if you are like me and its just 5kg or so then i don't think it will do too much damage. What ive done is removed chocolate from my diet (which was very hard) but now if i go off my diet i let myself wat anything but chocolate. I don't know if it does anything but i used to eat ALOT of chocolate.
But yeah its probably not very healthy to keep doing it - i can't give you a medical perspective just my opinon. :)
