What distinguishes people with anorexia nervosa, the binge eating/purging type from those with bulimia nervosA?

Q. What distinguishes people with anorexia nervosa, the binge eating/purging type, from those with bulimia nervosa???

A. Bulimia is binge/purge eating, while Anorexia is starvation. There are many other profile differences between Bulimia and Anorexia. There is also Binge Eating Disorder.

Anorexics tend to be perfectionists, and are horrified of gaining weight.

Bulimics tend to maintain a healthy diet, but sometimes get derailed and eat 2000+ calories in one sitting, then try to compensate by vomiting, or excessive working out.

Binge disorder is marked by eating but not purging.

Can you just forget about your eating disorder?
Q. I hate my eating disorder. I can't believe people choose to live with it.
Can I just forget all about it, forget about binge eating, purging, calories, self harm, etc.

Like, I want to just eat normally tomorrow and not spend a single minute of thinking about weight. Can I really do this?? has anyone else done it?

A. Yes you can but you need help. Find someone who knows what you are dealing with, if your doctor doesn't have the knowledge they can recommend you. I battled back from the brink of death from this disease. Find someone to help you and don't wait another day. The quicker you get help the quicker it will mitigate the damage to your body. Please get help.

It does come down to self-esteem and you have to realize you are worth something. Every morning when you get up say a positive thing about yourself, and hold onto that each and every hour of the day. Your are worth something. You are important and you deserve to be healthy and happy. Learning to love and accept yourself is the first step.

What is the primary factor that differentiates bulimia nervosa from binge eating?
Q. a.) Purging is rarely practiced in binge-eating disorder
b.) Higher rates of depression are reported in bulimia nervosa
c.) More food is consumed at one setting in binge-eating disorders
d.) Uncontrollable cravings for high-fat foods are seen only in bulimia nervosa

A. As someone who struggles with bulemia i know for a fact that the main difference is the purging after the binging. A person with binge-eating disorder eats until uncomfortably full and then duznt do anything to offset the calories wile someone with bulemia eats until uncomfortably ful and finds some way to get rid of the calories whether its vomiting, laxitives, extreme excercise or fasting a few days afterwards.
