Q. a test i took online said i have anorexia. another said i have binge eating disorder. i am 5' 8" and weight 110. im 14. can you have binge eating disorder and still be really thin??
A. Anorexics think they binge all the time, however, it typically is still less than a person on a strict diet ordered from a physician.
Eating 2000 calories is not a binge....eating 15,000 is a binge.

How do you know if a makeup product is tested on animals?
Q. How would I know if a specific makeup product was tested on animals? Would it say it on the container, and if so, where? Should I look on the companies website? Help!! I hate animal cruelty!!!!!
Also, do you know any good companies that don't test on animals?
Also, do you know any good companies that don't test on animals?
A. I happen to disagree very strongly with "anotherstalker's" statement that trying to not buy cosmetics tested on animals is "futile" because there are so many people out there who "don't give a crap." If that was the attitude on every thing in society, nothing would EVER get changed because everybody would say, "Oh, I might as well not give a crap because nobody else does either." And as for this person's statement that it is futile to be a vegetarian because there are so few vegetarians out there, that is one of the most moronic mentalities that I have every come across. I choose to not put animal flesh or products into my body. Personally, I don't give a crap if other people do put animal products into their bodies-- that is their decision, I am not going to. Should I start smoking just because somebody else is? Should I become a binge drinker or a drug addict just because there are already plenty of people out there who are???
It is very difficult to tell what companies don't test on animals. However, being a vegetarian and animal lover, I continue to do my best. The reason it is difficult is because the law is so lenient and allows companies to lie by technicalities. For example, NYC cosmetics say on their packaging "Not Tested on Animals." However, they are owned by Coty, which performs the animal testing on the ingredients before NYC creates the products. Therefore, NYC's finished product is not tested on animals, but the individual ingredients are tested. Same with Bath and Body- product states "This Finished Product is not tested on animals." However, Bath and Body DOES test their ingredients on animals, just not the finished product.
Other companies will pay an outside lab to do their testing for them, so that they can claim "We do enage in animal testing." No, maybe you don't; but you paid a lab to do it for you. Hypocracy and lies.
The most common forms of animal testing are:
1) Draizing, in which an animals eyes are clamped OPEN so that they cannot blink; and the ingredients are then poured into the animals eyes and the animal is left in this condition for days so that the company can claim that their product does not contain any eye irritants. This is not only cruel, it is idiotic, because human eyes react very differently to eye irritants than animal eyes do. Just because you tortured an animal with your ingredients does not mean it will not irritate human eyes.
2) Toxicity tests- in which the animal is FORCED to eat make-up ingredients, and then it is recorded how many of the animals die from teh ingredients.
Animal testing of cosmetics is NOT required by law. Companies do it so that if someone tries to sue them, they can use their animal testing as a defense in the lawsuit.

Please, for the animals sake, continue to care and do your best whether or not anybody else "gives a crap." If the animals could talk, the would not say, "Please stop caring about use even though nobody else does." They would say, "Thank you for having the courage to care even though nobody else does."
If we continue to make our concerns know, to send e-mails and letters to cosmetic companies letting them know: "This is why I don't buy your product: it is tested on animals," eventually we will make a difference.
A lot of people who "don't give a crap" about animal testing have very ignorant beliefs about animal testing. When I tell friends and co-workers that I don't buy this or that b/c it is animal tested, they say stupid things like, "Well, it doesn't hurt an animal to brush it's teeth or rub a little lotion on it." They do not understand that animal testing is about very cruel things: draizing and forcing them to eat crap they don't want to eat that will kill them. I think if the public truly understand what animal testing is-- not just brushing the litte bunny rabbit's teeth to see if they get whiter; but forcing the bunny rabbit to eat the toothpaste ingredients by pumping them through the mouth into the stomach-- then more people would "give a crap."
Do not be discouraged by morons who don't understand.
Blessings.

How do I get my boyfriend to stop eating so much sugar so he can lose weight and become healthy?
Q. my boyfriend has a sugar tooth. he loves sweets. if you buy a container of juice, soda, cookies, or any other sweet food, he will most likely consume a large majority of it within a day or two. earlier on in our relationship he began eating healthier and we would go to the gym together and he lost a lot of weight. but ever since I got pregnant, he hasn't been working out and has been eating a lot more sweets than he normally had been. so he's gained weight and weighs more than he had before we went out. I know a lot of it has to do with his stress of the unexpected pregnancy. but lately he has been talking about going back to the gym but won't, and continues to consume a large amount of sweets, despite the fact that I've expressed my concerns of him developing diabetes or some other health problem (a lot of health issues run in his family).
I would start going to the gym with him to support him, but I cannot afford a membership at the time. and he doesn't want to workout at home.
what should I do? his clothes are getting too tight on him, and I'm very concerned about his health.

A. He is not taking proper diet that makes him feel full, otherwise he will not binge on sugary stuff which stops his hunger craving for some time but does not provide any nutrition. If he gets three proper and filling meals breakfast, lunch and dinner, he won't feel hungry at other times. So you must try to make sure he gets proper food. And do not bring processed items in your house. Instead keep fruits where you keep sugary stuff. When he goes to eat that, he won't find them, instead he'll see fruits and might end up eating them. That will kill his craving and he'd eat healthy stuff too. Also get his blood tests done, if he sees bad numbers in there, he might think seriously about his health. You need to throw some tantrums too. Don't be too nice to him. And don't mix TV and food. That causes overeating.
The key is to be full with healthy food, that way he will never crave for anything else. Oatmeal and other cereals are very good and I personally feel full for long time after eating them
Cheers!
